ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) is the new threat to world peace we are told by Western leaders and the Western media, kept out of these reports is the fact that America, trained and armed this group which we are now led to believe poses a threat to international peace. Why is it that former friends and allies of America have a habit of becoming public enemy number one?

It does not take a gifted researcher to sift through the archives and records to find that the American CIA created and trained what is now called Al Qaeda to fight the Russians. When the media introduced this group to the public, it was as enemies of the West responsible for the 9/11 attacks and opposed to the West. Left out of the reports were the crucial facts, that America trained, armed and supported Al Qaeda whilst they were the enemies of Russia. It was only when this group began to have ambitions that threatened America’s economic interests that they became public enemy number one.

Better still. How many of you remember former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein? Introduced to us as a tyrant and a monster who used chemical agents to attack innocent villagers. Left out of media reports was the cosy relationship that America and indeed Britain had with this tyrant. A relationship which involved providing him with the very chemicals which he used to gas innocent people. Crimes, that ironically he would be found guilty of at an international tribunal. Today, the evidence reveal that the West are up to their old tricks of lying to the public about the reasons for wars and conflicts in this world. General Thomas McInerney, admitted on Fox News that America had backed the ‘wrong people’ in the Libyan ‘rebels’ who murdered former Libyan leader Colonel Gaddafi, and are now the ISIS militants that America has introduced as enemies of the West. Whether the General genuinely believes that America backed the wrong people is debatable, as their seems to be a pattern of America and Western countries in general of backing the so-called wrong people. A report by Aaron Klein titled, (U.S. Trained ISIS at Secret Jordan Base,Global Research, June 18, 2014 WND 17 June 2014), stated that US instructors trained ISIS members at a secret Jordan base in 2012. The report goes on to say how US, British and French instructors has trained Syrian rebels who oppose the government of President Bashar al-Assad. In effect, the West are responsible for the increasing conflicts in this region.

This is not a matter of backing the wrong people as General Thomas McInerney would have us believe, this was a deliberate political ploy aimed at destabilising the Middle East in accordance with US foreign policy objectives.

I wrote the following article U.S. planned regime change in Syria from 2001, over two years ago where I quoted General Wesley Clark, speaking in a Democracy Now interview with Amy Goodman about how he received instructions in 2001 that the US military was planning to attack Syria. It mentions “This is a memo that describes how we’re going to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran.”

This was planned over a decade ago by the US military, it is logical to then say that anything else that has followed since has been in accordance to US military strategic objectives, including ISIS.

When we digest news reports, we have to bear in mind that what we are told is not what is really happening on the ground or in reality. It is easy to demonise an entire group based on their religious beliefs. It is easy to accept what we are told is happening as we do not have to make an effort to think for ourselves, to embark on our own research and use the intelligence that each of us is gifted with. It is harder to be critical of what we read, hear and see on our television screens. It is harder to accept that the governments who claim to represent us are themselves criminals and terrorists, because that would mean that we have a responsiblity to hold these individuals, along with the corporate financial elite who funds these wars, responsible for their crimes against humanity. Perhaps this is one of the main reasons why many people continue to digest the lies of their government and the media, it requires no effort.
