After a Colonel Gaddafi overthrew the Colonial Powers installed King in a bloodless coup, Libya rose from being the poorest nation in Africa to be Africa’s wealthiest per capita with a UN Quality of Life Index higher than nine European countries including Russia. This was unreported in Western imperialist media as was the nearly one million Libyans out of a total population six, wildly and desperately demonstrating for their Green Book Democracy waving photo posters of their revolutionary leader outside Tripoli as British and French warplanes were bombing and zeroing in on Africa’s hero, the nemesis of Western imperialism, Muammar Gaddafi.

For forty years, as in the case of Fidel Castro, the mainstream media, owned and controlled by investors in genocide, battered away with Gaddafi being a ‘brutal dictator,’ never mentioning his decentralized Arab Socialist government’s fantastic achievements in high quality universal education and health care; its continually declining infant mortality rate saving many thousands of lives; every family owning an apartment of their own for except those who wished to live in traditional tents, likewise, everyone able to afford a car and dirt cheap gasoline in a cleanly run nation whose constitution prohibited wage labor, replaced instead by sharing partnerships. Also unmentioned by Gaddafi’s would-to-become accessories to his assassination was the incredibly awesome in proportion huge acuifer project of underground rivers that were turning the dessert green and bringing drinking water to coastal cities. The gigantic aquifer system expansion that was underway now lies in ruins – along with Libya’s cities.

Naturally unmentioned in the corporate conglomerate monopolized media was Gaddafi’s use of Libya’s oil wealth and leadership as Chairman of the African Union, in guiding Africa toward eventual freedom from European exploitation and the continual political and military interventions that create the chaos in which foreign ‘free enterprise’ can function to maximum neocolonialist accumulation of bloody capital and continued control of Africa’s natural resources. Of course carefully unmentioned was that Gaddafi was being effective in blocking the progress of US Pentagon’s AFRICON organizing of a US dominated African military force supposedly to confront the terrorism which the CIA itself had been sponsoring since the US invasions and occupation wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The global media’s audience would never be aware of very worrisome threat to the Central Banks and the US dollar that the forty-three plus billion in gold stored in the Libyan National Bank was as it had begun to be minted, under agreement with Iran, into a gold currency intended to replace trading in US dollar.

History books in the not too distant future will surely call this incredible CNN led propaganda success of shouting on high about ‘Libyan Government crimes’ without one single corroborating video or photo (rather one of a few hundred people jumping up and down, or a video of people running in the indistinguishable darkness to the sound of someone firing shots, or of a plane in the air, or months later, of a bomb crater in a field where no one was hurt, but pointed to for days by CNN’s Nic Robertson), and in spite of early reports by BBC and Reuters of incredibly huge and brutal massacres of captured black Libyan soldiers, that were squelched on US evening news programs. Capitalism’s Warplanes: CIA & al Qaeda Destroy Socialist Libya’s 53rd Highest Living Standard By jay janson, OpEdNews, 4/22/2011

The pathetic speech of a US president desperately attempting to justify his ordering a massive US Air Force and Navy missile and bombing attack to overthrow a small African nation to be continued by the warplanes of the USA allied former Colonial Powers that had kept Libya in poverty in order to steal its oil, will surely be highlighted in eventual lawsuits against citizens of the US and NATO nations for wrongful death, destruction of property and theft of natural resources. There Was No Libyan Peaceful Protest, Just Murderous Gangs and Nic Robertson By Jay Janson June 20 2011 “Information Clearing House” -and Counter Currents, Kerala, India

Now that Libya is now utterly destroyed, let the reader consider the roll of Western alternate media, supposedly representative of Anglo-American left progressives opposed to imperialist capitalism, or what Martin Luther King called “atrocity wars and covert violence meant to maintain unjust predatory investments.”

Googling the name of Znet founder Michael Albert followed by ‘….and Gaddafi,’ brings up a terrifically clear example – a long diatribe of unbelievably preposterous lies, mis and disinformation ending in modest support for the US-NATO missile attacks, bombing and other interventions in Libya.

Stephen Shalom & Michael Albert Answer Questions on Libya, Apr 6, 2011

Next, the reader is referred to the antics of Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin and a pertinent article by Finian Cunningham published in Global Research on Democracy Now.

Protestors Arrested For Tearing Down Qaddafi Pictures At
Feb 24, 2011 WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) — On the same day anti-Qaddafi forces claimed victories … the sidewalk, Medea Benjamin and Tijhe Barry snuck inside the Libyan mission and took down pictures of Qaddafi.

For years, your author forced himself to watch Amy Goodman on her Democracy Now program refer derogatorily to the ‘Gaddafi regime’ and promote the lies that CIA fed CNN was promoting regarding the so called ‘civil war’ in Libya. E.g., from her broadcast of FEBRUARY 22, 2011: AMY GOODMAN: “The Libyan government faces international condemnation for a vicious assault on the growing uprising against the four-decade rule of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. On Monday, Libyan troops and pro-government mercenaries attacked a huge demonstration in the capital of Tripoli. Armed forces hunted down protesters in the streets, while Libyan warplanes and helicopters fired on them from above.”

A couple of years later this author got to confront Amy Goodman personally as her company was filming an Occupy Wall Street meeting. ‘Amy, you must be proud of your great and loyal contribution toward the destruction of Libya and Gaddafi.’ Amy looked away.

As Finian Cunningham documents below, Amy Goodman and Democracy Now have continued on with criminally skewered reporting on the similar Syrian ‘civil war.’ “Democracy Now” and the “Progressive” Alternative Media: Valued Cheerleaders For Imperialism and War By Finian Cunningham

Seems that once a great lie has been turned into a truth by the 98% of the sources of print and electronic information owned by corporate investors in the illegal use of US-NATO armed forces, most all the Internet based progressive newsletters and magazines, most of which suffer from weak financial support, will quite naturally shy away from confronting something believed as truth by a majority of Americans (not to mention a majority of Europeans and probably a majority in the non Western satellite audience of the Western media giants). There are always plenty of other issues to report on, issues that bring no danger of loss of financial contributions from the large and only liberal segment of Alternate media readerships.

Such was the silent roll of the majority of ‘peace and justice’ organizations which backhandedly supported the defamation of Gaddafi and his Libya, in spite of Libya having had at that time the 53rd highest UN Quality of Life Index in the world and of course 1 in Africa. The criminality of such silence before, during and after, Libya’s destruction is compounded by their silence during the enthusiastic collaboration of many now recognized CIA assets within alternate media.

With the left progressives and peace and justice groups supporting or acquiescing to pivotal and basic lies, we arrived at a point of universal credence and acceptance of deception wherein the Chinese Ambassador to the UN apologetically defending his nations diplomatic abstention and refusal to use China’s veto to block the proposed ‘No Fly Zone,’ noted at the conclusion of the his post vote statement explanating China’s abstention, ‘… “and then there is the concern for protecting lives,” as if Gaddafi was, as bellowed about everywhere in media and by politicians, ‘about to massacre his own people’ in Benghazi. Of course, there was no reporting of the peaceful results and welcomed relief of towns liberated by the advancing Libyan army and militias amid the daily rants of against ‘brutal tyrant Gaddafi and his ‘regime.’

Your archival research peoples historian working for years with former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark’s support has searched without finding corroboration or documentaion of a single crime Gaddafi is supposed to have committed. Gaddafi reportedly having funded organizations or governments that subsequently committed acts of terrorism, should be understood in the context of an Africa still economically and criminally plundered by European and US investors and caught in a back and forth complication of Western intrigue and forms of mass manslaughter directly or indirectly funded by Europeans using politically controlled military and covert operations in order to maintain the continuing genocidal exploitation of most of Africa.

The travesty and miscarriage of justice in the Lockerbie trial, that Gaddafi agreed to abide by, is clear for anyone taking the trouble to read the through reports of Professor Hans Köchler, who was appointed as one of the UN observers by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, who criticised the trial in his report and evaluation. In an interview for the BBC on the day the first appeal was rejected, he described the court’s decision as a “spectacular miscarriage of justice“. Köchler’s reports were highly critical of the proceedings and challenged the fairness and impartiality of the High Court of Justiciary. Their publication triggered a large-scale international debate, including in the British House of Commons] about the politicization of criminal trials in the context of power politics. [UN Monitor Decries Lockerbie Judgement, BBC News, 6/5/2010. UN Rapporteur Michael Nowak also called the trial a miscarriage of justice. Of course care was taken never to ask in media or court, what could possibly have been any Libyan’s motive for, or expectations from, such a indiscriminate wonton taking of lives – to what purpose?

Gaddafi’s title within the highly decentralized Libyan government was one of Protector of the Revolution, and one can remember the hundreds of documented assassination plots against Fidel Castro to understand that both revolutions were constantly the targeted by the Western colonial-neocolonial masters of the world. Fidel had better luck. In 1986, that financial element in the centers of power saw to a US President’s order for an unprovoked air attack that murdered Gaddafi’s adopted three year old daughter among a hundred other Libyans in 1988. (The attack was condemned by many countries. By a vote of 79 in favor to 28 against with 33 abstentions, the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 41/38 which “condemns the military attack perpetrated against the Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya on 15 April 1986, which constitutes a violation of the Charter of the United Nations and of international law“. ) In 2011, another US President saw to organizing the relentless attack from the air that took first his grandchildren before Gaddafi himself (by then already an old man).

To your author, it appears incomprehensible that this continual use of US Armed Forces in bombings and invasions since Korea, which presidential candidate Ron Paul, a few years ago on prime time evening news, told Americans over and over again “were all illegal and unconstitutional,” brings no call from progressives and peace and justice activists for legal action under Nuremberg Principles law.

If the reader is intent on believing contrary to the documentation given in this article, there are plenty of attempts to read in the sensationalist press throughout the Western world: e.g.:

Daily Mail, Oct 23, 2013 – The terrible truth about Gaddafi’s harem: How Libyan dictator kidnapped and raped dozens of women to fulfil his perverted desires. Harrowing …

Muammar Gaddafi war crimes files revealed – The Guardian:

Jun 18, 2011 – The documents are expected to form a crucial element of any trial against Gaddafi, his son Saif al-Islam and his intelligence chief Abdullah Senussi if, as is expected, ICC judges confirm indictments for war crimes and crimes against humanity that are demanded by its chief prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo.

(note: Since Chief Prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo has never considered prosecuting a colonial-neocolonial power, but rather only designed or confirmed enemies of nations with a history of murderous exploitation of Africa, her words have to be taken in this context.)

On the other hand, extraordinarily, one can still find the truth now and then as in the below Counter Punch article:
The Future Gaddafi Foresaw Libya, ISIS and the Unaffordable Luxury of Hindsight, By Ahmad Barqawi

Long time Italian Prime Minister says Libyans love Gaddafi as Italians Protest NATO

“Powerful people decided to give life to a new era by trying to oust Gaddafi,” Berlusconi said, according to Italian news agency ANSA. In July Berlusconi already said he was against NATO intervention in Libya but “had to go along with it“, therewith exposing the fragility of the alliance trying to murder Gaddafi. He added: “What choice did I have considering America’s pressure, President Georgio Napolitano’s stance, and the Parliament’s decision?

Of greatest legacy is Gaddafi’s address to the UN General Assembly in which he, as no one had done before, described how the UN has sanctified US-NATO invasions and bombings in falsification of its charter from its very beginning, and labeled the UN Security Council correctly, a ‘council of terror.’Muammar Gaddafi Speech To United Nations.
